Urgent Call For Foster Carers For Teenagers

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

There is an urgent need for more foster carers for teenagers across the UK, new research from the Fostering Network has found.

The survey, published at the start of Foster Care Fortnight, shows that three out of five (59 per cent) fostering services are desperately seeking foster carers to make sure that teenagers can be found the homes they need. And the situation is getting worse; virtually all fostering services (98 per cent) responding to the survey were looking for more foster families for teenagers than last year.
By being placed with the right foster carers, teenagers have the opportunity to continue with their education, the stability to thrive and a family that can give them the love and support that they need.
Across the UK, a child comes into care and needs a foster family every 22 minutes. The Fostering Network estimates that an extra 8,750 foster families are needed in 2012 alone

Sometimes wounds from much earlier in your life resurface and haunt you. Sometimes you just feel you have lost your way and no longer know what to do.

Carillion Home Insulation

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

On the 19th. April Jerry interviewed Andrew Edwards from Carillion Energy Services (CES) about the promotion currently running on GFM 96.6 free or highly subsidized home insulation

Carillion are currently offering cavity-wall and loft insulation from £49. However, if you own your home and are on certain benefits, you could receive insulation free of charge. This offer is also available to your friends and family.
You can hear the interview again by going to    http://listen-again.gloucesterfm.com/index.php?id=4555    and ‘listening-again’ to the last hour of the breakfast show. The interview comes about 36 minutes into the hour.

The facts
In this interview, Andrew explained to Jerry that much of the heat lost from your house is through the walls (25%) and through the roof (35%).
Insulating your home could save you up to £300 a year and even if you had to pay the subsidized fee you would soon recoup the cost & start saving on your energy bills.
Even better it costs nothing to find out if you qualify! Calling them on a landline at freephone 0800 316 600 will cost nothing and they will visit you at home to check your property completely free of charge!

To find out if you qualify for the free service and if your loft or walls are suitable for insulation you can call them on 0800 316 6008 and talk through your circumstances with them. They will then arrange for someone to visit you in person and do a survey of the property & check your circumstances in complete confidence. If your home is suitable they will then book your installation. As previously stated all this is at no cost to you.

The whole installation process takes no more than half a day. This is done with NO mess & minimum disruption: any dust or debris, which might occur, is removed & your home is left clean & tidy as they find it.

The material is maintenance free & it’s very unlikely anything should go wrong, however, Cavity-wall insulation is guaranteed for 25 years and loft insulation lasts for up to 40 years.
Insulating will keep your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, and cavity-wall insulation can help reduce condensation.

Find out more by listening to the interview again or calling free on the above number. You can also book a survey on-line http://www.carillionenergy.com/insulation/index.php
[There is a check-box on the application form asking how you heard about their service – please choose the option ‘Radio’ – this will then let them realise the power of our radio service for informing the community!]
