Weather Disruptions Tuesday 21st December

Refuse and Recycling collection have been suspended again in the city today, due to the adverse weather conditions. Residents due for a collection today, should leave their bins out and they will be emptied when it is safe to do so.

The Guildhall

Due to the weather conditions it has been decided to close the Guildhall. Anyone who has purchased tickets for tonight’s film will be contacted and their tickets transferred or refunded. Phones at the Guildhall will be manned up until 6pm, following this an answer phone will be in operation. Staff are anticipating to be open as usual tomorrow, and will then make a decision on tomorrow nights event.

Building Control

Building control will be reducing the number of site visits until the weather breaks. The team will be operating an emergency service, for example, dangerous structure call out’s only

Fees and Charges

Payments are currently still being made in person, but customers are asked to use the internet where possible, due to the bad weather and a software upgrade. The software upgrade will also mean the kiosk will be out of action tomorrow morning.

Public Toilets

The public conveniences at Robinswood Hill and the bus station due to wet and slippery floors.


Shopmobility

Hampden Way: Will be open this morning, but there is no water so no public conveniences. This will be assessed at lunch time today. Please would customers ring BEFORE they come in.

Quays:

Open this morning, but customers need to stay in centre.  Will reassess at lunchtime, but customers to ring before they come in.  Both sites will be accessed in the morning for tomorrow ( Wednesday).

Robinswood Hill

Notices will be put up to notify residents whether it is safe to go sledging on the hill.

Residents have been calling concerned about the cattle on Riverside Meadow. Officers would like to thank residents for their concern regarding their welfare, but can confirm they are being visited daily and given fresh straw.
