During the unprecedented floods in 2007 the Gloucester City’s Football Club’s ground was hit by flooding for the third time. Since then they have shared facilities with other clubs, Forest Green and presently Cheltenham.
However the club known as the “Tigers” have always hoped to return to the Meadow Park ground.
Now much work has been done to create flood defences and now there is ‘light at the end of the tunnel’
The supporters’ trust has raised £400,000 towards changes at Meadow park and say that coming back would revitalise the club and the city.
Phil Warren, Chairman says that it is time for unity and all sporting teams and organisations in the city should back the planning application.
“It would be absolutely massive to come back to Meadow Park.”, Phil, vice chair of the trust who also said that local residents & businesses would benefit from the return
