The Big Freeze in Gloucestershire continues

Beware of icy conditions – that’s the message from weather experts ahead of bad weather this evening.

Drivers and walkers are being urged to take great care when out and about tonight and tomorrow morning.

John Hammond, from the Met Office, said the temperature of the roads would mean rain and snow would freeze and make conditions treacherous.

He added there was a possibility of more snow tonight.

He said: “You could see a covering of snow in Gloucestershire for a time, but it’s not going to be that cold, you may get a few centimetres.

“I will still stress that the ice is going to be the biggest factor this evening and into tomorrow.”

Here’s your GFM Weather Forcast for the next few days:

Tonight: Rain, with snow on high ground, clearing eastwards. Remaining cold with a continued risk of icy conditions.

TONIGHT’S MINIMUM TEMPERATURES

GLOUCESTER & CHELTENHAM: -2C 28F

FURTHER OUTLOOK:

Saturday: Rather cloudy with showers and icy conditions for a time. Less cold. Maximum temperature 8 deg C (46 deg F).

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Generally cold, dry and sunny. A few scattered showers during Tuesday. Temperatures well below average with overnight frosts.
