Snowed-in? – NO problem, Jordan (12) is out there shifting it!

Last year Jordan Nugent got a salt bin for his neighbourhood and this year he set about using it. While people were feeling frustrated and complaining about the state of the streets, he got out and hit the streets – with his shovel and the grit! Two kinds of grit that is: grit salt for the roads and a grit of determination to do something about the situation.
Undaunted by having having Crohn’s Disease and presently living on a liquid diet he was out knocking on people’s doors, seeing who needed help and shovelling grit onto roads and pavements so people could get about.

This is not unusual for him either, last year he was nominated for Chris Witts’ Gloucester Young Person of the Year Award in May for his efforts in helping people in Abbeydale during the cold weather.
His mum says that he has a heart of gold and you never hear him moan, the only thing he is worried about at present is that he has worked so hard that the salt bin is currently empty!
