Gloucester’s first Civic Variety Show will take place on Friday 8th April at 7.00pm. Legendary comedian Jerry Thomas is coming out of retirement to perform. Singer Riccardo Orefice, dancers The Coady Crew, and Poet Peter Wyton are also on the bill. Town crier Alan Myatt will be singing a piece from Gilbert and Sullivan and ventriloquist Kieron Powell, winner of Gloucester Youth’s Got Talent, has also agreed to take part. A number of other acts have also been lined up.
City Council Leader Paul James said that It’s great that Kieron Powell is taking part. Just as the winner of Britain’s Got Talent appears on the Royal Variety Performance, it seemed right that the winner of Gloucester Youth’s Got Talent should take part in the Civic Variety Show.”
The show is the brainchild of City Council Leader Paul James. He said, “I wanted to put on a performance which really showcases the talent we have in Gloucester. I’m very grateful to all those who have agreed to take part and to staff at Gloucester Guildhall who are helping to make it all happen. I think we have a fantastic line-up and it should be a first-class show.”
