I have been buying tunes since 87/88 but have tried to take time to go beyond my years and discover what came before, I bought my first turntables after doing a crazy labouring job while taking my GCSEs – not really achieving my full potential & then, with the turntables in my room, not really having much spare time to complete my A levels. Couldn’t see anyway of taking things beyond my room – coming from a small area – so started entering competitions & battles for something to focus on. After becoming a finalist on Galaxy 101 with only one 1200, I decided it was something that I should maintain & see how far I could take it. Did well in a few battles & gained my first club residency in Birmingham at VITAL when Judge from Shotcallers asked for a demo.

I have been lucky enough to perform alongside: TC Islam (Zulu Nation/son of Afrika Bambaataa), Dynamite MC (Full Cycle), Donavan Smith, Estelle, Blu Cantrell, Coolio, Aspects, Blak Twang, Peter Parker (Fingathing), Freestylers, Morcheeba, Stanton Warriors, Scratch Perverts, Killa Kela, Clipz (Full Cycle), Rodney P & Skitz (1Xtra), No Morals cru, Shotcallers crew, Scarecrowz, Semtex (1Xtra), DJ MK (Roots Manuva), Quest (2003 DMC UK Champion), Noize (2x World DJ Champion.) & have been lucky enough to perform around much of the country from London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol, Taunton, Exeter, Cheltenham & Gloucester.

I had been aware of GFM since it first came on to the airwaves while working at 45s Records in Gloucester & serving some of the DJs from the station (& it’s forerunner) – although I knew a few DJs that were involved it was only when DJ John Mustoe saw me spinnin at a club in Cheltenham that he approached me & asked if I was interested in putting together a demo.
I got together with Action Jackson & Dirty Lyle – as I knew they both had a deep knowledge of music & could help me to put something special together… Late Manoeuvres first came on air in July 2003.

Obviously being accepted onto GFM, working for Big Daddy magazine & just meeting so many talented people along the way has been good.

I never expected to get past the bedroom DJ stage so everything else is just a bonus – I’m just gonna push as far as I can - cos I know there are a lot of DJs who have built their careers on luck & links rather than talent & skill.
