| The internationally recognised R and B, Hip Hop and Dancehall have had an adverse effect on African music. New and young artists have emerged with their own styles unique to their regions. They may sing in their native tongues and call their music different names, but the influences of the above mentioned genres are very obvious. It is this collection of beats from the streets of Africa that I intend to share with the dedicated listeners of Gloucester FM. |

I listened to GFM from when they started broadcasting as a summer station and it was a breath of fresh air. After they received a full time broadcasting licence last year, I realised that even though African music was being represented through Dino Samura, African urban music was not getting its share. So I decided to try and address the balance. |

| I have never done any broadcasting work before and have not got any achievements in this industry besides the few parties I’ve played a 30 minute slot and managed to avoid being booed at.
