Pure Vibes Show – Drum n Bass

At the moment I am currently concentrating as much on music production as I am on turntablism, I spend my free time playing video games and just chilling with friends and other people who are involved in the drum n bass scene. I used to play rugby for Gloucester district and Old Richians RFC but unfortunately had to quit due a shoulder injury. I also like to play snooker on occasion if I get the chance

I got into drum n bass when I was 12 years old after bumping into a friend in town and listening to his headphones, shortly after I started sneaking into local events in and around the area just to get a feel for the scene. I saw the DJ and thought ‘That’s what I want to do’.
So for my 13th birthday bought a pair of decks and started learning how to mix, soon after I acquired a place on a local internet radio station.

I always wanted to be part of an FM radio that is local to Gloucester, showing people that drum n bass, is not JUST drums and bass, and help them to open their minds to the music itself. Callide had been on at me to send in a demo for a while anyway so then I decided that the time was right to promote myself further. So I sent one in and a week or so later got the call from Derek to become part of the GFM Family

Being the youngest radio presenter ever at 13 on a local internet station
Djing live outside of Gloucester (as well as in) at just 16
Being headliner for an event in Cheltenham at just 17
Getting into Gloucester district rugby
Becoming a member of GFM

As I’ve said, I’ve been getting on with production at the moment as much so as mixing, I would like to be able to become a well known DJ in Gloucester first before moving on to a national front.
Of course the aim is to become a household name and GFM is a step in the right direction.

Find your own sound, what music needs is originality, if it sounds good to you, 9 times out of 10 it is, so do it. Always go with your gut instinct.
