Plans to extend pay and display in Gloucester and Cheltenham will be reviewed following a big response from the public. 
Gloucestershire County Council was looking at extending pay and display in Gloucester city centre and parts of Cheltenham town, to help increase the turnover of spaces and deter drivers from blocking spaces outside people’s homes.
However, feedback from the public as part of a recent consultation will now be looked at by council officials before any plans are put in place.
Cllr Stan Waddington, cabinet member for environment and transport said: “We had an excellent response to the consultation and it is obvious that parking is an important issue in both areas. People have made it clear that they want us to make changes, but our job is to make sure we introduce the best schemes for everyone. We will not introduce any changes to pay and display until their comments have been looked at properly and the plans reviewed.”
The county council will continue to work with Gloucester City Council and Cheltenham Borough Council, residents and local councillors to tackle parking problems.
