Motorists advised to take care!

Road conditions are likely to be very icy overnight and tomorrow morning. Motorists are advised to take care and leave extra time for their journeys.

Temperatures will drop well below freezing overnight, resulting in a widespread frost. There could be some snow showers but no accumulations are expected. Some fog is likely to remain in the morning with low cloud.

Gloucestershire County Council’s gritters have been out treating secondary routes across the county this afternoon. Key routes in the west of the county will be treated tonight at around 7pm in anticipation of a hoar frost in that area tonight. Spot salting will be carried out in the East and Central areas tonight.

(warning from Gloucester City Council)

Met Office are predicting temperatures will fall as low as Minus 6 degrees Celcius tonight
