To mark international Women’s Day, 8th March, the Mayor of Gloucester, Councillor Jan Lugg, is holding a networking event for women and their male allies. All money raised from the event is being donated to the Women’s refuge in the city. The event is open to all in the city: to attend please email equality@gloucester.gov.uk| to confirm attendance. The informal networking event will take place in the civic suite at north warehouse from 12noon-2pm.
This project invites people, including staff at the city council, to provide a biography and picture of women who have inspired them. These will then be used as part of a wider resource for community groups, schools and other educational establishments and will highlight the positive influence that women have given to the communities of Gloucester.
