| I have
been involved in voluntary community work one way or another, elected
to a variety of positions since 1977. Starting with, getting started
and running, a youth club, for the black youth. Instrumental in
getting funds for the refurbishment of the Jamaican Sports &
Social Club & Community Centre, where I was Secretary then Chairperson.
When Glos.Rec was re-lunched, in 1994 I was a member of the first
management committee and chair of the personnel sub-committee. I
have been the chairperson of Gloucester City Council's Race Equality
Forum and online manager for the staff at Barton Tredworth Eastgate
Trust.
At present I am a local Magistrate, LEA Governor of St Paul's School,
parent Governor of Beaufort community School, parent Governor representative
on the education action zone forum, a member of Gloucestershire's
County Council's Multi-Cultural Advisory Group and one of the City's
local Councillor for the Eastgate Ward.
