The Rhythm & Blues show this week is featuring 2 hours of songs with “LOVE” in the title (& words derived from “LOVE” e.g. LOVing: LOVEs LOVEd)
Not only is it the month of February, with Valentine’s day fast approaching & Cupid lurking round every corner with his quiver full of arrows: but also the annual “GFM Mr. & Mrs. Competition” is taking place this weekend!!
Even better than that, this year local businesses have got behind this event in a BIG way! First Prize is a complimentary overnight stay at the Hallmark Hotel in Matson complete with three course dinner & a full English breakfast the following morning: winners also receive tickets to the R ‘n’ B Superstars Valentine Concert.
Runners-up will receive a £40 bouquet of flowers from the Gloucester florist in Carlton Road + a bottle of Champaign and the couple winning the third prize will receive a tasty meal from the local take-away Red-Eye Caribbean whose details can be found on Facebook.
That’s plenty to sing & dance about to celebrate, so love is the theme of this show!!
(Note: we might be “breaking the rules” slightly, some of the songs may not be quite 50 + years old: a few well-loved Motown & other tracks from the mid to late 60’s have also been included in the last hour of the show.)
