Police are appealing for specific information, Detective Superintendent Atkinson said: ““We know Mr Soons mobile phone is missing, it was an I Phone 4 and we are appealing to anyone who may have recently been offered one of these for sale or knows someone who may have unlawfully obtained one to contact us. “Also those responsible could well have been injured or have blood on their clothing. We are appealing to anyone who has knowledge of those involved to get in touch.”

Superintendent Tony Godwin is from the Local Policing Area, he said: “This type of incident is extremely rare and we would like to reassure residents that we are doing all we can to find those responsible. “Representatives of the local policing team will be in the area and will remain in the area for the next few days. If you have any concerns about your personal safety please feel free to speak to one of them. There is also advice on the constabulary website and details of how to contact your local policing team.”
