The Gloucestershire Warwickshire volunteer-run railway line has been hit by another landslide. The heritage line’s coffers were already bare following the previous embankment collapse at Gotherington and £60,000 losses due to cancellations during the harsh winter.
A fundraising initiative backed by the music industry’s Pete Waterman, who has a lifelong passion for the railways, was launched three months ago to repair the previous damage at Gotherington.
The volunteer workforce are devastated, the weather caused the cancellation of the ‘Santa Specials’ over the Christmas period and there is currently no income as trains are not running now. They believe this is the biggest challenge the railway has ever faced. To find out more or how to donate to the emergency appeal visit:-
