Too much, or not too much?
Have your say on the allowances and expenses payable to councilors. Gloucester City Council is looking for three volunteers from the local community to join the Independent Remuneration Panel. The Panel makes recommendations to the city council on the allowances and expenses payable to councilors.
Julian Wain, chief executive, Gloucester city council said: “This is an interesting role, giving an opportunity to contribute on behalf of the local community to the council’s decisions about councilors’ allowances.
“The Panel meets twice each year, and is supported by council officers. Training and advice will be given and an allowance is payable for attendance at each meeting. “
Applicants should be over 21, possess questioning skills and the ability to consider evidence and form sound judgments, not have any active connections with any political party and be interested in the working of the local council.
