Good Progress on Policing Priorities in Linden

Linden Police Community Support Officer Asha Patel believes good progress has been made on the policing priorities for the local neighbourhood police team in the area.

Safer Community Team (SCT) officers have been tackling parking issues and anti-social behaviour in Alma Place in response to residents’ concerns.

In recent weeks the team has been patrolling Calton Junior School before drop-off and pick-up times as a preventive measure to stop motorists parking on the zig-zags while in Alma Place, patrols have been increased, particularly around lunch time when reports of anti-social behaviour have peaked.

PCSO Patel said: “The neighbourhood are really pleased to see us patrolling and making sure no one is drinking or misbehaving in the area.

“We’re continuing to forge our relationship with local schools in an attempt to tackle anti-social behaviour in the long term and will be joining St Paul’s, Calton and Linden schools for their harvest festivals over the weekend.

“I think we’re making really good progress on these priorities and I would urge people in the community to get involved and let us know what else they want us to tackle in the future. We’ll be holding a meeting in November to gauge the thoughts of the community so please contact us if you want to find out more about how you can help determine what we police in Linden.”
