Richard Pike from the Gloucestershire Lottery came to the community Link Studio last week to promote the Gloucestershire Lottery. The mission of the lottery is to raise as much money as possible for Gloucestershire charities. No money made by the lottery leaves the county, all money raised goes towards local causes. This lottery is based on the model of one that is running in Pembrokeshire. It has raised more than £3 million over 13 years!!
The James Hopkins Trust, the charity behind the new fundraising idea, hopes that the Gloucestershire Lottery will eventually help to make thousands of pounds for charities throughout the county, as well as raise awareness of the trust. The St. Johns Ambulance Charity has also signed up to The Gloucestershire Lottery.
The Gloucestershire Lottery is now working in partnership with GloucesterFM Radio (GFM 96.6) and as such for every GFM 96.6 listener who signs up to play the lottery a sun of £5 will be donated to the GFM 96.6 survival fund. Please note, you must indicate on the form(where indicated) that you heard about the lottery through GFM 96.6. Towards the bottom of the form it asks “Where did you hear about The Gloucestershire Lottery?”
