Mutsa Muzenda Fundraising Co-ordinator
I have been resident in Gloucester since the year 2000 when I emigrated from Zimbabwe to study Agriculture at the local, Hartpury College, under the University of The West of England. Since then, I have gone to attain a National Diploma in Agriculture and a Batchelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Land Management.
My involvement with GFM commenced in the summer of 2007 when I started presenting a brand new show called Street Beats: AFRIKA, on late Thursday nights, featuring African Urban vibes. Progression to presenting other shows such as The breakfast show, Lunch time mix, Drivetime and the Saturday Night Reggae Jam soon followed, thereby showcasing my versatility.
In 2008 I became a member of the GFM fundraising committee, sitting at meetings and helping at functions. This inspired me to do a parachute jump to raise more funds for GFM in the summer of 2009, sadly it raised less funds than anticipated. It came as a shock when I was nominated as a candidate for the GFM management board as I assumed I did not have the credentials for the position, however, I embraced it as an opportunity to do more for my local radio station.
