Despite an intensely busy schedule, Dr Ben Carson took just over 15 minutes away from the operating theatre to speak to Sister James for the “Familytime” Programme. You can hear this interview during the show between 6-00 and 7-00 Wednesday 21 September.
Dr Ben Carson is now a highly renowned neurosurgeon and he was the first person successfully to separate twins conjoined at the head.
It may be hard to believe that at one stage he was so far behind in school that fellow pupils teasing him “Dummy” and teachers ignoring him made his life a misery. However the quick thinking and support of his mother got him to enjoy the benefits of reading and he soon became top of his class with his former teasers coming to him for support in their assignments.
