Cllr Will Windsor-Clive, Gloucestershire County Council Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Youth, is urging people to take fire safety seriously over the Christmas period. Fire fighters from across the county will also be getting out and about in communities between now and December 24th raising money for the Fire Fighters Charity and giving out Christmas fire safety information.
Decorations, wrapping paper, naked flames (e.g. candles) and consumption of alcohol are all added hazards; as are electrical items like fairy lights. People are also reminded that it’s not only the fire that kills but also toxic smoke it gives off.
