Digital Switchover

Gloucestershire begins the switchover to digital TV this week.

On Wednesday the first channel will be switched off for people served by the Mendip transmitter near Wells, which includes people living around the Stroud Valleys.

The second stage of the switchover will take place on April 7th.

You will need freeview, satellite or cable TV to continue watching your favourite programmes.

When the switchover takes place people with Freeview, BT Vision and Top Up TV will need to retune their TVs or digital boxes to pick up all the services available.

Stage one starts in the early hours of Wednesday, 24 March. Analogue BBC Two will be permanently switched off from the Mendip transmitter, some Freeview digital channels, including BBC Two, become available for the first time to viewers served by relay transmitters.

Stage two starts in the early hours of Wednesday, 7 April. The remaining analogue channels (BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4 and Five) will be permanently switched off. These services and a range of other Freeview TV, radio and text services become available to viewers served by relay transmitters.

Retune Times:

The time people will be affected by the digital switchover will depend on which relay transmitter is supplying their signal. Each area has its own time to retune, both on March 24th and April 7th.
