Gloucestershire Life, which provides emotional and practical support for young families, has issued a plea for baby linen, blankets, sheets, cots, pushchairs, highchairs, baby seats and baby clothes after its Gloucester storeroom was reduced to rubble.
Gloucestershire Life runs a free support service providing a service to women who need emotional and practical support either through an unexpected pregnancy or who have little support at home and may lack the resources to care for their baby.
All their equipment and supplies were stored in a ground-floor room in Northgate Mansions which collapsed in December and had to be pulled down.
“We are in serious need of help now,” said Bernadette Padfield, a Life counsellor. “We will also need somewhere to store it.” Volunteer Sarah Sharpley said ideally the charity would also find new premises from which it could run a café in addition to its consultation rooms, and store.
