Reports say that the number of shoppers visiting Eastgate shopping centre is climbing week on week.
There is a ‘buzz’ around Santa’s Grotto and he has already seen over 400 children this year. One shop manager states that as well as an increase in average spend there is also an increase in footfall. Moreover people seem to be shopping more than just browsing. A new shop selling books and other items is doing so well that they are now looking at the length of the lease. Trade is building week on week and there are positive comments from shoppers.
Extra sparkle
Charlotte Jarrett, marketing manager at Eastgate Shopping Centre, said: “Christmas seems to have an extra sparkle here in Gloucester this year, with confidence picking up on the high street. “Gloucester’s shoppers seem to be enjoying all of the festive entertainment that is on offer here in the city centre.”
She also added that there is a trombone group coming to the centre this coming Thursday & Saturday.
