If your New Year resolution is ‘going up in smoke’ why not join those who are getting support from the award-winning NHS Stop Smoking Shop.
It’s an ever-increasing group: John Byles, who was the 1,000th. quitter, has praised the supportive and friendly environment created by the fantastic team there.
More than 230 smokers a week are getting advice from the shop which is open six days a week in Gloucester. Elaine Watson, service manager at the shop which has been open since December 2008, said that while it might be easy for people to get discouraged, they aim to prevent this by providing much needed support to people when they need it.
In addition to the shop, the team also provides services at leisure centres, supermarkets and pubs, as well as GP surgeries, pharmacies, and workplaces
